Struggling to recruit the right people or keep hold of great staff? You’re not alone. Hertfordshire Futures is working with local partners to develop a workforce strategy that addresses the real challenges employers are facing today. Share your experience to help shape the solution.

Last November, the Government published its Get Britain Working White Paper, highlighting the growing number of working-age people not currently in (or seeking) employment, sometimes due to health-related issues. In response, local authorities are creating local plans to tackle these challenges head-on.

Here in Hertfordshire, recruitment and retention continue to be major concerns for many businesses, sparking the launch of the Get Hertfordshire Working initiative.

To build the plan, Hertfordshire Futures, working on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council, has teamed up with:

  • Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Job Centre Plus
  • Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board
  • External consultants SQW
  • A wider group of local stakeholders

Together, we're working to identify the key workforce issues affecting our region and develop practical, tailored solutions that work for local employers.

We want to hear from you
We’re inviting employers across Hertfordshire to take part in shaping the final strategy so that it reflects the real challenges and opportunities of today’s labour market.

Take the Hertfordshire Employers Survey

  • Responses are confidential and handled by independent research firm SQW
  • No employee names or contact details are required
  • You can opt in for follow-up discussions at the end of the survey.
