Hertfordshire Futures plays a leading role in the development and implementation of the county’s skills and employment strategy to ensure both residents of all ages and local businesses are equipped for a changing economy.
Our programmes create inclusive pathways into education, training, and work, helping residents overcome barriers and build future-ready skills. We provide targeted support for upskilling and reskilling, enabling progression and adaptability in the labour market.
Through our strategic policy and planning work we act as a skills leader and trusted broker. With our partners, we develop and deliver a suite of strategic plans to ensure the county is connecting employers with talent, addressing skills gaps, and co-designing solutions that meet local needs.
Our goal is to empower residents of all ages, strengthen communities, support local businesses, and drive sustainable economic growth across Hertfordshire.
The Hertfordshire Skills & Employment Strategy sets out a high-level plan to help increase and develop the capacity of our existing and future workforce. The strategy is produced by Hertfordshire Futures alongside key skills and employment stakeholders and is an dynamic accelerator driver of enterprise, investment and key sector growth. The strategy dovetails with the Hertfordshire Economic Strategy, driving impact across digital creativity, productivity and innovation and ensuring our local communities thrive.
Integral to the core strategy are a suite of skills and employment action plans detailing how partners are working together to ensure the county’s skills and employment provision addresses the local skills challenges and opportunities, meets the employment needs of the future, whilst supporting all residents to reach their potential.
