The Youth Jobs Grant offers employers a £3,000 payment for every eligible young person recruited, helping businesses of all sizes and sectors access motivated talent while supporting more young people into work.

Whether you're a small business looking to grow or a larger employer seeking future talent, the Youth Jobs Grant provides financial support and recruitment assistance to make hiring easier.

What's available?

When you recruit an eligible young person through the Youth Jobs Grant, you'll receive:

£3,000 per Eligible Hire

A financial incentive of £3,000 to help offset recruitment, onboarding and employment costs.

Recruitment support

Employers recruiting a young person through the Youth Jobs Grant ill have access to:

  • Job matching support through Jobcentre Plus
  • Support from local recruitment consultant teams
  • Opportunities to meet potential candidates before making recruitment decisions
  • Access to Untapped Talent

The scheme connects employers with motivated young people aged 18 to 24 who are ready to start work and develop their careers.

Who can apply?

The Youth Jobs Grant is available to employers:

  • Of all sizes and across all sectors
  • Recruiting eligible young people aged 18 to 24
  • Recruiting young people who have been unemployed and receiving Universal Credit for at least six months
  • Eligibility criteria apply

What's required?

In order to access the Youth Jobs Grant, employers will need to:

  • Offer a genuine paid job that would otherwise be recruited for
  • Provide at least 25 hours of work per week
  • Complete a straightforward application
  • Confirm the role is safe, fair and of good quality
  • Nominate a point of contact
  • Keep DWP informed of any changes affecting the role or grant application

Simple application process

Applying is straightforward and takes around 20 minutes to complete. You'll be asked to accept a short set of terms and conditions as part of the application process.

How the grant is paid

£1,800 after week 6 of employment

£1,200 after week 18 of employment
